How do I place an order?

We’ve made ordering simple. There are a couple of ways to use our site to find and purchase what you need.

  1. First, select one of the categories pictured on our homepage: Shop Metal Doors & Frames – Shop Hardware – Shop Electronic Access Control – Shop Wood Doors. If you know what you’re looking for, you can use our search box to locate the product. Or, you can select by product type. When you find the item that you are looking for, select it, enter the quantity that you need and click on Add to Cart and the item will be placed in your shopping cart. It’s that simple!
  2. If you need specially fabricated or engineered products, you've come to the right place. Select *Configurator and we will guide you through the selection process. Once you’ve answered the questions and we have the necessary information, you will be able to see your assembly along with the pricing. When you’re ready to buy, add it to your cart and proceed to checkout.

We will accept returns on products ordered from our website provided that the return is made within thirty (30) days of shipment with valid proof of purchase, and that the product is returned in its original condition. All returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee, and any credit issued will be less the original shipping and handling costs.  In situations where the product is deemed defective, or incorrect material is shipped, a shipping label will be provided for return.  In all other situations, you will bear the cost of return shipping

Damaged goods must be reported to us within two (2) business days to be eligible for replacement.

Products that are designated on our website as final sale or non-returnable are not eligible for return.

To return products, click on “Account” at the top right of our web page. Then, under the “Orders” tab, click on “Return Items?” which is located below the status of your order. You can also click on the order and click “Return” under the “Actions” section on your order (NOTE: the return buttons will not be visible for your order until it has shipped). Next, select the quantity of each item you would like to return, the reason for the return, the return action, and provide any comments regarding the return that may be helpful. Lastly, click “Submit Return Request” to transmit your request to our Customer Care Specialists.

After you have submitted your return request, a Customer Care Specialist will email you an RGA (Return Goods Authorization) document. This document will include two (2) pages. The first page is a label to be attached to the outside of the package you are returning (NOTE: this is NOT a prepaid shipping label). The second page includes item return information, and should be placed inside the box prior to shipping. You are responsible for all shipping and handling charges on returned items, and you bear the risk of loss during shipment; therefore, we strongly recommend that you fully insure your return shipment against loss or damage, and that you use a carrier that can provide you with proof of delivery for your protection.

It typically takes three (3) business days for an RGA (Return Goods Authorization) to be generated by our distribution facilities once we receive your request. After the distribution facility has received and inspected your returned material, it typically takes up to fifteen (15) business days to issue credit. Credit will be issued to the original payment method used on the purchase.

For defective returns, please refer to the manufacturer’s warranty included with the product or as detailed in the product’s description on our website.

The Cook & Boardman Group and its distribution facilities reserve the right to issue or deny credit on a case-by-case basis. This return policy is subject to change without notice.

How will my orders ship?

Typical hardware orders will be shipped via UPS, FedEx or USPS. Orders with doors, frames, or any oversized items will be shipped via LTL Freight, “tailgate delivery”. Recipient is responsible for unloading and the driver will not assist in unloading.

Hardware orders received prior to 11:00 AM Eastern Time will ship the same day. All others will ship on the following business day. Deliveries will be made during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM local time) to the designated address. Within the 48 contiguous United States, you can expect to receive your materials within 3-5 business days. We will send Tracking Information to you as received. Feel free to contact us anytime to request tracking assistance to locate your order.

We have included a complete handing diagram in our Resources section that is accessed by selecting "Contact & Help" from the top of the webpage. Remember, you will need to be Registered or Linked to access these features. Handing is also integrated into our Configurator (Coming Soon). When you use our Configurator, we will ask you for the door handing and show you the different options. All you need to do, is select the one that you need and we will handle it from there. Remember, in addition to Doors and Frames, some hardware is handed also. We do our best to make it easy to select the correct materials for your needs. You can also find a door handing chart here.
